What is Radiance?
In 1889, Vincent Van Gogh painted one of the most famous paintings in history, ‘Starry Night’. This radiant night sky was the view from the asylum he was committed to because of his emotional troubles. He said this about his painting:
“This morning I saw the country from my window a long time before sunrise, with nothing but the morning star, which looked very big.”
“Starry Night” was a symbol that hope existed, but it was destined to be out of reach for the talent rich artist. Do you feel like this? Does it feel like a long time before the sunrise?
Job security, financial stability, affluence, love. These things shine a light of steady comfort and peace. But what happens when the “radiance” from these things dim in the darkness of economic downturn, layoffs and broken relationships? What do you see?
You have so much to give but feel trapped in the darkness. We are living in the worst and most difficult time in our generation. However, the night seems darkest just before the sunrise. Hope is within reach. Come to Easter Sunday at Newsong NOC to experience your radiance and potential in this dark time.
